Abstract
A study was carried out to determine the effects on power output by altering the body configuration (BC) through backrest angle (BA) while keeping the hip orientation (HO) constant. The recumbent positions were compared with the standard cycling position. The power and kinematic data were tabulated for the five different recumbent BA positions, the greatest recumbent peak-power output position for each subject and the standard cycling position. Overall, significant results were obtained.
