Card Pile Sort (Coding)

Abstract

Card-pile sorting is a traditional method of managing qualitative data on paper (3 × 5 inches or 4 × 6 inches) index cards. Many researchers find it advantageous to be able to physically touch and manipulate these analog cards when sorting, coding, and organizing their qualitative datasets.
