“CELEBRIFICATION”: A CASE STUDY OF LOLO JONES

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingChapterpeer-review

Abstract

Fast-forward to the two years leading up to the 2012 Olympic Games in London. Jones had struggled with injuries and even underwent a procedure for a spinal condition in August 2011. As a result, her performance was inconsistent, and given her times, she was not among the favorites to make the U.S. Olympic team for the 100meter hurdles. However, she persevered and placed third in the U.S. trials, earning the last qualification spot.
