Abstract

Fine coal cleaning involves the use of density-based separators and circuits that utilize the unique characteristics of each unit to achieve the optimum performance. For particles smaller than 0.15mm, froth flotation is the most effective technology although density-based separators have shown the potential to be an adequate substitute for difficult-to-float coals.
