Abstract

In this work, it is shown that the analysis by Wei et al. [Wei et al., J. Mater. Chem. A, 2014, 2, 1128-1136] is inappropriate for studying the effect of dislocation mechanics on diffusion-induced stresses. Using the theories of dislocation mechanics and plasticity, a set of equations for analyzing the effect of dislocations on diffusion-induced stresses are proposed.
