Abstract

The use of Forestry Best Management Practices (BMP) in reducing pollution from timber harvesting and silvicultural activities while providing for their safe and efficient implementation is discussed. BMP is developed to reduce erosion and production of muddy water from forestry operations. The factors that effect the amount of erosion and delivery of sediment to streams include density or number of roads and trails in a forests.
