Abstract

This paper develops a distributed control for forbidden state avoidance for discrete event systems which are modeled as Petri nets. We consider a class of Petri nets controlled by multiple local controllers, each of which has partial observation of the system states and limited control to the system. The local controllers interact through a communication channel to achieve a control that ensures the system will not reach any state satisfying a forbidden condition on the marking of a set of places. The maximally permissive control is obtained in a class of controlled Petri nets in the distributed case.
