Controlling Joint Penetration Based on Weld Pool Geometry

Research output: Contribution to conferencePaperpeer-review

Abstract

The control of weld penetration which determines the quality of welds was discussed. A neurofuzzy model which correlates the back-side bead width and the weld pool geometrical appearance was also discussed. A robust control algorithm with closed loop stability was used to overcome interval uncertainty in the process dynamics. The results show the effectiveness of the developed weld joint penetration control system.
