N2 - The authors regret to inform the readers about the erroneous estimation of a study's effect size included in the meta-analysis. The authors reported the effect size of Rossini et al. (Rossini et al., 2005) as 4.38. This is incorrect, and the corrected effect size is 1.38, as displayed in the modified figure (Fig. 3). The correction in effect size of Rossini et al. changes the overall effect size of the meta-analysis to 0.71 (Hedge's g = 0.71; 95 % CI [0.26, 1.15]). This changes the publication bias for included studies [t(8) = 1.15, p = 0.28]. These corrections do not affect the directionality or scientific conclusions from the meta-analysis. In the Abstract, the statement on results needs to be corrected. It should read: This showed active TMS combined with pre-specified antidepressants had greater efficacy for MDD treatment than sham TMS combined with the same antidepressants as in the active arm (Hedge's g = 0.71; 95 % CI [0.26, 1.15]). In the Results section, the statements on the overall effect size of the meta-analysis and publication bias need to be corrected. These should read: Egger's test for publication bias was not significant, indicating a lack of publication bias for studies included in the meta-analysis [t(8) = 1.15, p = 0.28]. The results of the random effects meta-analysis suggest that active TMS combined with antidepressants had greater efficacy for MDD treatment than sham TMS combined with the same antidepressants as in the active arm (Hedge's g = 0.71; 95 % CI [0.26, 1.15]). As expected, the studies had high heterogeneity (I2 = 84 %; p < 0.00001). We assessed publication bias for included studies and found none [t(8) = 1.15, p = 0.28].[Formula presented][Formula presented] The authors would like to apologize for any inconvenience. They state that these corrections do not change the scientific conclusions of the article in any way.
