Abstract

The diode laser welding process is a typical nonlinear system with disturbances and noises. To obtain unbiased estimates for unknown parameters, an identification method based on correlation functions is preferred. In this paper, a nonlinear identification method based on crosscorrelation functions is used to establish a nonlinear model, which is linear in parameters, for the diode laser welding process addressed. The model has been validated by the comparison of the computed step response with the actual step response.
