N2 - The complexity of screening behavior and the numerous influences on adherence with recommendations raise a number of issues for understanding screening decisions and using that knowledge to inform interventions and public policy. Research to advance such understanding, such as that recommended in this commentary, is critical if we are to advance the public health goal of using screening to reduce cancer mortality.
