Depressive Episodes in a Patient With Bipolar Disorder

Abstract

This is a case report of a 48-year-old woman suffering with bipolar depression who had previously been diagnosed with unipolar depression and treated with antidepressants for several years. This article highlights the importance of differentiating between unipolar and bipolar depression and the utilization of appropriate psychopharmacotherapy for bipolar depression.
