Abstract

In many ways the design of the farm residence is similar to the design of its suburban or urban counterpart. Much of the discussion about structural design room layout, landscaping, and interior design can be applied equally to residences in the city or in the country. However, there are differences, and this paper discusses some of the factors of design that are unique to farm residences. The main features fall into three major categories: siting, spatial features, and utilities, all of which are examined in the paper.
