Abstract

A multilevel fast multipole algorithm (MLFMA) based on volume integral equations (VIE) was proposed to analyze antenna radome interaction problems. The proposed algorithm was implemented for both tetrahedron and hexahedron meshes to analyze the radiation patterns of dipoles in presence of radomes. A 9-element uniform dipole array with quarter wavelength inter-element spacing was located on z-axis inside the shell. Analysis suggested that the proposed algorithm yielded highly accurate solutions for radomes containing small-scale geometric variations.
