Abstract

Disease: The official common name of ihe foliar disease on corn is Diplodia leaf slreak, oflen given ihe shorthand nomenclature DLS. Hosts: The only known hosl of DLS is corn (Zea mays L.; Bradley 2016). Pathogen: The fungus lhal causes DLS is Stenocarpella mac-rospora (Earle) B. Sutton. In older literature, the synonym Diplodia macrospora is sometimes used. 5. macrospora can also cause Diplodia ear rot (While 2016).
