Abstract
A latest polymer material is specifically designed to deliver DNA vaccines for dendritic cells and to release the DNA at a rate that is synchronized to the natural timing of the immune system. The new polymer for delivering DNA in synchronization with the life cycle of white blood cells that stimulates a cell-killing immune response and makes DNA vaccine more potent for use. Identifying a set of design criteria for DNA-vaccine delivery materials includes safety for patient, compatibility with and protection of encapsulated DNA and the ability to tune the rate of DNA release. It is stated that early detection of the protein on the sentry-cell surface can actually induce immune tolerance.
