Abstract

Metal transfer is an important factor in welding process. It can affect the formation and quality of weld. In order to study metal transfer characteristics during dual bypass GMAW (DB-GMAW) process, many kinds of edge extraction algorithms were used to process the necking images of DB-GMAW metal transfer. The edge extracting results show that ZeroCross differential operator is the best. And it can process successive images of DB-GMAW metal transfer successfully.
