Dr Irina Pinchuk earned her Ph.D. in Biology and Nutritional Science in 2001 from University of Bordeaux I, France. She did her postdoctoral studies at University of Texas Health Science at Tyler, TX and University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, TX from 2001 to 2007, where she later served on the faculty as an Instructor (2007–2008), then Assistant (2008–2014) and Associate Professor (2015–2018). In 2019, she relocated her lab to College of Medicine at PennState Health Milton Hershey Medical Center, where she holds the position of Associate Professor at Department of Medicine. Her current research focuses on the understanding of the role of mesenchymal stromal cells in the mucosal homeostasis, chronic and tumor promoting inflammation in the gut. Dr Pinchuk has published over 50 articles in this research area and serves on several review panels. Her research has been supported through Crohn’ and Colitis Foundation of America, American Gastroenterological Association, National Institute of Health, as well industry partners.
