Abstract
Cotton denim, cotton chambray, Gore-Tex, and Tyvek were contaminated with pesticide residues under laboratory conditions, prior to laundering with a heavy-duty liquid detergent. Pesticide removal improved with increase in washing temperature. The removal of captan residue from cotton was lower than from synthetic fibres, and the removal of Guthion deposits from Gore-Tex was relatively difficult.
