Funding Information:
This EHV-1 special edition brings together a series of review and original papers that provide extensive new information about the immunology of EHV-1. The springboard for this venture was an EHV-1 workshop organized in the summer of 2004 in Tuscany, and supported primarily by the Havermeyer Research Foundation, with additional support from Intervet Inc., Fort Dodge Animal Health, Pfizer Animal Health, and Merial. As the organizers of that meeting, and the guest editors of this edition of Veterinary Immunology and Immunopathology , we are grateful for the support we received, and look forward to the further collaborations that will result from such workshops, as we strive to make progress in understanding the immunology of EHV-1 infection.
