Abstract

We report on measurements of the Young's modulus (Y) and internal friction (1/Q) in (TMTSF)2PF6 at 5.5K as functions of electric field. No changes (ΔY/Y, Δ1/Q < 2×10-4) are observed at fields up to 100ET, the threshold for SDW depinning, in contrast to what is observed for many sliding charge-density-wave materials. A possible explanation is that we are not observing bulk depinning of the SDW.
