Abstract
The paper “Enrichment of Bi-Be-Mo-Cd-Pb-Nb-Ga, REEs and Y in the Permian coals of the Huainan Coalfield, Anhui, China” by Munir et al. (2018) provides new data on the geochemical compositions of the late Paleozoic coals from five different mines in the Huainan Coalfield, China, as well as proximate analyses, vitrinite reflectance measurements, maceral contents, and mineralogical constituents. A critical examination, however, suggests that a large proportion of the reported data are questionable, and also that references cited at a number of points are either improper or incomplete.
