Abstract
The Nature of Slacktivism: How the Social Observability of an Initial Act of Token Support Affects Subsequent Prosocial Action Kirk Kristofferson, Katherine White, John Peloza Journal of Consumer Research, Volume 40, Issue 6, 1 April 2014, Pages 1149 1166, https://doi.org/10.1086/674137 Published: 06 November 2013 In the article The Nature of Slacktivism: How the Social Observability of an Initial Act of Token Support Affects Subsequent Prosocial Action , Journal of Consumer Research, 40(6), 2014, 1149-1166 (Kirk Kristofferson, Katherine White, and John Peloza), the regression results on page 1161 should read as below. This correction does not alter the pattern or significance of the findings. Results revealed no main effect of either condition variable (C1pri-pub: b = .05, Wald v2(1) = .02, p > .88; C2pri-ctrl: b = .34, Wald v2(1) = .96, p .32), but a main effect of connection-to-cause (b = .23, Wald v2(1) = 4.89, p = .027). However, the expected interactions between each condition variable and connection to the cause were significant (C1pri-pub interaction: b=.34, Wald v2(1) = 7.39, p = .007; C2pri-ctrl interaction: b=.40, Wald v2(1) = 10.0, p = .002). Johnson-Neyman floodlight statistics and associated page 1162 text should be the following. (Table Presented).
