Abstract

In this paper, the heat transfer from a circulating fluidized bed to a vertical tube was studied experimentally. The bed column has a 80 mm I.D. and is 6 m in height. The bed solids were two sizes of glass beads with 0.25 mm and 0.77 mm diameter, respectively. The heat transfer coefficients were measured at different radial locations in the bed, and the circumferential distribution of heat transfer coefficient on the tube surface was also found. Effects of operating parameters on the heat transfer are discussed.
