title = "Fischer-Tropsch synthesis: Metal-support interfacial contact governs oxygenates selectivity over CeO2 supported Pt-Co catalysts",
abstract = "For Fischer-Tropsch (FT) synthesis, cobalt has been used to produce mainly n-alkanes over a wide range of molecular weights. A study on FT activity and selectivity of Pt promoted Co catalysts supported over high surface area ceria at moderate temperatures and pressures was carried out. Oxygenates selectivity was compared to a standard Pt promoted Co/γ-Al2O3 catalyst. Different Co loadings were used to achieve different Co particle sizes, and thus, different degrees of interaction with the support. A plausible mechanism for the formation of oxygenates over Pt promoted Co-Ceria catalysts was put forward. This is an abstract of a paper presented at the 2011 AIChE Spring Meeting & 7th Global Congress on Process Safety (Chicago, IL 3/13-17/2011).",
