Abstract

Information about the fitness levels of elite tennis players has not been previously reported. A method of obtaining this information, and the results of a survey of elite junior tennis players, is described. The relationship between the observed fitness levels and reported injury patterns is explored, and preventive measures to decrease injury incidence are discussed.
