Abstract
'Parentheticals – A Love Story' joins the critical conversation on the practical tools needed for legal discourse. The Article examines the rhetorical advantages of the use of parentheticals for explanation of the effects of a synthesis of authorities. I examine parentheticals under the lens of citation usage, synthesis theory, contemporary rhetoric, law and economics, and narrative reasoning theory.
