Abstract

Equality of the generating functionals for Green functions in the massive Thirring and sine-Gordon models is demonstrated. As a simple consequence I obtain Coleman's bosonization rules in the massive case and explicit expressions for the Thirring model Green functions in the massless one. It is shown that bosonization induces a Wess-Zumino term which reveals the fermionic nature of the sine-Gordon soliton.
