Abstract

Synchronous generators are important components in power systems and their performance plays a pivotal role in maintaining system reliability. Various types of disturbances such as flickers, harmonics and faults may occur in the system, which may have impacts on the generator performance. This paper investigates the effects of these disturbances on generator performance. Results based on simulation studies are presented. Such analysis may provide guidance in designing generator monitoring systems and control schemes in mitigating any potential adverse impacts.
