Abstract

A procedure is presented for applying circuit-analysis techniques to perform noniterative power-system analysis with a microcomputer spreadsheet. Balanced three-phase conditions are assumed, and an expanded-radial system is employed to show examples of spreadsheet cell allocations and formulas. It is shown that the solution is not as flexible as iterative and load-flow programs. However, the spreadsheet approach offers a high degree of convenience, as it produces adequate analysis results using software that is readily available for microcomputers. The outcomes of system modifications are observed quickly because the spreadsheet offers recalculation immediately after data entry.
