Abstract

It is argued that the fast β- decay of 190Re involves the allowed unhindered transition 9 2-[505]ν- 5 2+[402]π JKπ = 22- → 11 2-[505]π- 5 2+[402]π JKπ = 33- in accord with a recent microscopic description of Kπ = 3- octupole excitations in the osmium region.
