Abstract

The role of fathers in their children’s lives has evolved, moving beyond traditional measures of co-residence and financial support to encompass various dimensions of meaningful involvement. A scoping review examined existing instruments measuring father involvement to explore this complex construct. Key questions included identifying available scales, the dimensions they capture, and their alignment with commonly cited models of father involvement. Twenty-five studies met the inclusion criteria, providing a comprehensive overview of the scales researchers and organizations can use to study father involvement and support families.
