Abstract

Cellular interferon response to microbial infection is transient. In a recent paper in Immunity, Long etal. (2014) identify protein phosphatase 2A (PP2A) as a deactivator of phospho-interferon regulatory factor3,thekey transcription factor for interferon synthesis, thus providing one basis for the observed transiency.
