Abstract

Monoclonal antibodies to a 70-kD cytokinin-binding protein (CBP-70) from etiolated maize seedlings were obtained. From mouse ascites fluid, seven types of monoclonal antibodies possessing high specificity toward CBP-70 and devoid of cross-reactivity with other soluble proteins from etiolated maize seedlings were isolated and characterized. A protocol for CBP-70 isolation including affinity chromatography on immobilized monoclonal antibodies is developed.
