Abstract

The oxidative coupling of a tetraethynylethene derivative with a single free ethynyl function afforded a silyl‐protected derivative la, which was characterized by an X‐ray structure analysis. It was protodesilylated to the first C20H6 isomer 1b. Evidence of the expanded π‐electron delocalization in the new cross‐conjugated system comes from UV/VIS spectroscopy. (Figure Presented.)
