Abstract
The temperature-dependent optical conductivities of ferromagnetic Mn-doped GaN in a wide photon energy region were investigated. The absorption peaks were studied within the photon energy gap of 5 meV to 4 eV. At low temperature, an increasingly intesified peak was observed around 1.25 eV. The very low absorption showed by the far-infrared spectra suggested that carrier-mediated ferromagnetism was unable to explain the ferromagnetism in GaN:Mn.
