Abstract
We fabricated molecular junction arrays using one-dimensional anodic aluminum oxide templates and measured the corresponding current-voltage characteristics. A one dimensional nanopore array was fabricated from an aluminum layer that was sandwiched between two silicon dioxide layers on a silicon substrate. Depending upon the geometry of molecules and contact, the current-voltage characteristics of self-assembled molecular junction arrays showed symmetric or asymmetric charge transport behavior.
