Abstract

The phase behavior, semicrystalline morphology, and crystallization kinetics of a binary blend of poly (ether ether ketone) [PEEK] and bisphenol A polyarylate [PAr] have been investigated over a wide range of blend compositions. The two polymers were found to be partially miscible in the amorphous state, with an essentially pure PEEK phase and a mixed amorphous phase evident in the quenched samples. Melt-crystallized blend specimens also displayed two distinct amorphous populations.
