Abstract

This article attempts to answer questions by reviewing changes in platelet morphology and biochemistry during aggregation, the role of the platelet in thrombosis and artherosclerosis, the success or failure of antiaggregant therapy in stroke prevention, and future prospects for antiplatelet prophylaxis.
