Abstract
This paper prevents the power angle stability studies of a large utility system based on North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) requirements. We carry out nine types of contingencies and find out that the most severe contingency causing stability problem is the stuck-breaker faults. The impact of substation configuration and speed of protection system on stability of the system is also discussed.
