Abstract

A study of the radiative-recoil corrections of the order α(Zα)5(m/M)m to the Lamb shift in hydrogen was performed. The infrared safe Yennie guage was used for the analysis of the corrections. The largest source of the theoretical uncertainty in the magnitude of the deuterium-hydrogen isotope shift was eliminated through the study.
