Abstract

We have found that the cluster H2Os3(CO)10 reacts with a variety of heterocumulenes via activation and hydrogen transfer to yield cluster complexes containing partially hydrogenated substrates variously coordinated to the polynuclear metal frameworks. CS2 reacts with H2Os3(CO)9-[P(CH3)2C 6H5] via a sequential transfer of two hydrogen atoms in a process that eventually leads to fragmentation of CS2 substrate and the cluster.
