Abstract

The reaction between the titananorbornadiene complex [(DMSC)Ti(η⁶-1,2,4-(Me₃Si)₃C₆H₃)] and ketones or aldehydes were proceeded by insertion of a ketone or aldehyde molecule into a Ti-C bond of 2,5-dioxatitanacyclopentane. The intermediacy of 2-oxatitanacycloheptene species and the formation of 2,5-dioxatitanacyclopentane compounds was also indicated.
