Abstract

In this paper, we propose a robust fault detection and isolation method for linear input time-delay systems under unknown disturbances. The factorization approach in the frequency domain is used to obtain results. A parameterization for all residual generators for fault detection is proposed. Based on the results of parameterizations, the robust residual generator design is studied. A performance index that contains a measure of the effects of disturbances and faults is introduced. It is shown that the residual is robust against the disturbance and sensitive to the fault. The application of residual evaluation for such systems is also discussed.
