Abstract
An overview is given on a study that supports the hypothesis that talc or aqueous solutions auxin move into the stem and are moved up the stem in the vascular system. It is shown that in contrast, auxin in ethanol can enter the stem both from the cut surface as well as the epidermis throughout the area of the stem dipped in the solution.
