Abstract

SARCOPENIC OBESITY (SO), THE COMBINATION OF OBESITY AND AGING-RELATED MUSCLE ATROPHY, PRESENTS NUMEROUS CHALLENGES FOR EXERCISE PROFESSIONALS (EPS). LIFESTYLE INTERVENTIONS INCLUDING EXERCISE TRAINING AND DIETARY MODIFICATIONS CAN IMPROVE QUALITY OF LIFE, PERFORMANCE OF ACTIVITIES OF DAILY LIVING, AND LONGEVITY FOR PERSONS WITH SO. HERE, WE PROVIDE A DETAILED DISCUSSION OF HOW EPS CAN EVALUATE OR SCREEN FOR SO AND STRATEGIES FOR EXERCISE PROGRAMING FOR PERSONS WITH SO.
