Abstract

Aim: To get inhibitory bacteria compounds from marine Streptomyces. Method: Using 8 test strains, 256 Streptomyces from ocean were screened with their activities against bacteria. Strain M097 was selected to get an optimum condition. Active compounds have been isolated from the crude extraction by fermentation, ethyl acetate extraction, column chromatography etc. Result: The proportion of active marine streptomyces was 22%. 3 compounds produced by marine Streptomyces M097 were identified as feigrisolides A, B and C respectively. Conclusion: Marine Streptomycetes showed promising prospects in discovery of inhibitory bacterial substances.
