Second order analysis technique for nonprismatic bridge piers

Abstract

An approximate second order method is presented for the analysis and design of cantilever compression members. Prismatic members with nonconstant reinforcement, and nonprismatic members can be treated by this technique. The formulation takes into account the effects of creep, foundation rotation and out-of-plumbness.
