SHOCK MODELS IN RELIABILITY THEORY.

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

J. D. Esary, A. W. Marshall, and F. Proschan have discussed a univariate shock model which gives rise to various nonparametric classes of life distributions. In the bivariate setting Block has considered some shock models which unify some of the various bivariate exponential distributions. A discussion is presented of these shock models and some conditions under which they give rise to bivariate NBU conditions.
