Spherical shells with nonuniform rigidity

Abstract

An iterative finite difference technique is presented in this paper for the analysis of axisymmetric spherical shells with variable wall thickness. The proposed method of solution is based on the classical thin shell theory, and it overcomes the limitations of existing analytical techniques.
